1. When you first enter the Custom Margin Report Formatting option a Select An Option window will appear; select ADD.
2. At the Report Ref field, enter a three digit reference number for the custom margin report.
3. At the Like Another (Y/N) field, enter Y (Y=Yes) to if you would like to create a report from an existing custom report or enter N (N=No) to create a margin report from scratch.
4. At the End of Day (Y/N) field, enter Y (Y=Yes) if you would like to run the report at end of day or N (N=No) if you do not wish to run the report at the end of day.
5. Enter a name for the margin report in the Report Name 1 field.
6. (Optional) Enter a secondary name for the margin report in the Report Name 2 field, or press Enter to leave the field blank.
7. A Select A Primary Key window will appear. Select your first level sort characteristic by selecting one of following primary keys:
8. "Page break on Primary Key No/Yes" will appear. Select Yes if you would like the report to have page breaks by the primary key; select No if you do not want page breaks.
9. A Select An Option window will appear allowing you to choose one, several, or all components that comprise the first level sort characteristic (primary key--see step #7). Your selection will be entered into the Scope field that is associated with the primary key.
For example, if your first level sort characteristic is Broker, you could choose one, several, or all brokers to be included on the margin report. If your first level sort characteristic is Customer, use the customer mask to make your selection.
10. A Select A Secondary Key window will appear, allowing you to choose a second level sort characteristic (optional):
Select a secondary key (second level sort characteristic) from the Select A Secondary Key window or select None if a second sort level is not required.
Note: Selecting EXIT will cause you to exit the Custom Margin Report Formatting option.
11. If you select a secondary key, a Select An Option window will appear allowing you to choose one, several, or all of the components or use the customer or item mask to select customers or items for the second sort level characteristic you have selected. Your selection will be entered in the Scope field that is associated with the Secondary Key.
12. "Page Break by Secondary Key No/Yes" will appear. Select Yes if you would like the report to have page breaks by secondary key; select No if you do not want page breaks by secondary key.
13. A Select A Tertiary Key window will appear, allowing you to choose a third level sort characteristic (optional):
Select a tertiary key (third level sort characteristic) from the Select a Tertiary Key window or select None if a third sort level is not required.
14. If you select a tertiary key, a Select An Option window will appear allowing you to choose one, several, or all of the components or use the customer or item mask to select customers or items for the third sort level characteristic you have selected. Your selection will be entered in the Scope field that is associated with the Secondary Key.
15. When you are done entering sort order characteristics (primary key, secondary key, tertiary key) you would like to use to sort the report, a Select An Option window will appear, allowing you to exit and return to the Report Ref field or choose the item type you would like to include in this margin report:
16. At the Suppress Prd Hdr field, enter N (N=No) to print the beginning and ending dates of the column above the column header lines, or select Y (Y=Yes) to suppress column header lines.
Body of Report
17. At the first Header field, enter a column header text.
18. (Optional) Enter a column header in the second Header field.
19. (Optional) Enter a column header in the third Header field.
20. A Select A Content window will appear. Select one of the available column contents:
21. A Select An Option window will appear. Select Exit to go to the next column or select one of the following time parameters to base the margin report on:
22. A Select A From Period window will appear; choose a period. Your selection will be entered in the Periods From - To field.
23. A Select A To Period window will appear, allowing you to enter a ending period for this margin report. Your selection will be entered in the Periods From - To field.
24. A Select An Option window will appear allowing you to exit and go to the next column or choose the decimal precision for the column:
Your selection will be entered in the P column of the report format.
25. At the A/D field, enter A (A=ascending order) to have the report display in ascending order; select D (D=descending order) to have the report display in descending order. Leave the field blank to have the report sort in the normal order.
26. Repeat steps 17-25 to format up to nine lines within the body of the report. Press Enter when you are finished.
If you select ascending or descending order, enter the limit on how many to include on the report:
27. Command options will appear; select Add to add the custom margin report format or select Exit to exit the options.
28. You will now return to a Select An Option window where you may add a new custom margin report format, print a list of custom margin report formats, or select an existing custom margin report format. Press Exit to exit the option.
